  • Minimum of 8+ years of experience in machine vision applications and large-scale control systems.
  • Integrate machine vision platforms (e.g., Cognex, SICK, Matrox) with existing PLC systems.
  • Proficient in programming PLCs and HMIs from scratch (Allen Bradley, Siemens, Ignition).
  • Collaborate with project management during design, calibration, testing, and deployment phases.
  • Deep understanding of control system timelines and integration processes; able to coordinate multiple technicians and programmers across jobs and locations efficiently.
  • Proven ability to develop innovative solutions and lead complex projects to successful completion.
  • Comfortable managing multi-site projects with staged rollouts.
  • Thrive in a results-driven, entrepreneurial environment.
 
Pre-Sales and Generalist focus to Include:
  • Partner with the sales team to develop and execute winning technology strategies, including machine vision feasibility assessments.
  • Design competitive solutions that meet customer requirements, including automated visual inspection and traceability systems.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with sales teams and key customer stakeholders.
  • Promote the full portfolio of technology solutions and services.
 
Specialist and Post-Sales focus:
  • Partner with the sales team to develop and execute winning technology strategies, including machine vision feasibility assessments.
  • Design competitive solutions that meet customer requirements, including automated visual inspection and traceability systems.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with sales teams and key customer stakeholders.
  • Promote the full portfolio of technology solutions and services.
 
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  • Select appropriate cameras, lenses, lighting, and filters for specific applications.
  • Collaborate with mechanical and electrical teams to ensure proper installation and protection of vision hardware.
  • Maintain vision system documentation, including inspection logic, image samples, and performance metrics.
  • Solve problems proactively and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Execute tasks based on established or newly developed processes.
  • Demonstrate curiosity, active listening, and attention to detail.
  • Manage multiple complex projects and interruptions with ease.

EDUCATION + EXPERIENCE + KEY TRAITS: 
  • Experience with machine vision software (e.g., Cognex VisionPro, In-Sight Explorer, Keyence, Scorpion).
  • Familiarity with image processing techniques (e.g., edge detection, pattern matching, blob analysis, color filtering).
  • Experience with common programming and scripting languages as applicable to MV and automation.
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings.
  • Strong understanding of lighting techniques and optical principles.
  • Certifications such as Cognex Certified Vision Professional are a plus.
  • Rockwell Certified Programmer; Ignition 8.1 Gold Certified (preferred but not required).
  • ABET-accredited four-year degree in Engineering, Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical (preferred but not required).
  • PE in Control Systems (preferred but not required).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams.
  • Strong time management, multitasking, and decision-making skills.
  • Self-directed, proactive, and adaptable.
 
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
  • Primary language used in daily operations is English.
  • Read and interpret documents, procedure manuals and various correspondence from both internal and external.
  • Speak effectively, both individually and before groups of both external customers and/or various levels of employees within the organization.
 
SUPERVISION:
This role does not include supervisory responsibilities. However, you may be responsible for delegating tasks to other project resources on large projects.
