Role Summary 
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for identifying, developing, and managing strategic partnerships with Payment Service Providers (PSPs) and Aggregators across Africa, with a strong focus on providers operating in high-risk verticals such as iGaming and Gambling. The role is expected to build a consistent and growing pipeline of qualified partners, actively lead commercial discussions and negotiations aligned with AvadaPay’s high-risk and African market strategy, and ensure all partner engagements are clearly documented with seamless handover of qualified leads to the onboarding and compliance teams to support efficient partner activation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify local and regional PSPs and payment aggregators across African markets using open-source tools such as Google, LinkedIn, industry directories, and professional communities

  • Analyze providers’ capabilities, supported countries, payment methods, and risk profiles to ensure alignment with AvadaPay’s business model

  • Proactively reach out to decision-makers (Founders, CEOs, Heads of Payments, BD Managers) via LinkedIn, Telegram, email, and other professional channels

  • Present AvadaPay’s value proposition and explore potential partnership opportunities

  • Build and maintain a structured pipeline of qualified PSP and aggregator leads

  • Move interested partners into active discussions and hand over qualified leads to the onboarding team

  • Map key payment providers by country and region, with a focus on local licenses, high-risk acceptance, and operational reliability

  • Provide market insights on emerging PSPs, aggregators, and payment trends in Africa

Key Requirements

  • Proven experience in B2B Sales, Business Development, or Lead Generation roles

  • Prior experience within Fintech, Payments, or high-risk verticals such as iGaming/Gambling is a strong advantage

  • Intermediate proficiency in English, both written and spoken; French language skills are a strong plus

  • Confident in using online research and professional platforms, including Google, LinkedIn, and Telegram, to identify and engage prospects

  • Strong written communication skills with a structured, disciplined approach to outreach and follow-ups

  • An existing professional network within the African payments ecosystem such as PSPs, aggregators, wallets, or mobile money providers is highly desirable
