The Lead Qualifications Developer (LQD) is a key role in ensuring the above. As a LQD you will be responsible for the co-ordination of the design and development of our qualifications and ensuring their regulatory compliance. Utilising your qualification development knowledge and working with internal and external stakeholders, you will support the design and development of qualifications to ensure we remain compliant and provide a quality service to all. Additionally, you will support the Assessment Design and Assessment Delivery managers in overseeing daily operations and ensure that Centres, learners and staff have an efficient qualification delivery experience.

Key Responsibilities


  • Support with delivery of the development roadmap in line with business objectives and technical guidance.
  • Lead on the design and development of new regulated qualifications.
  • Responding and coordinating responses to feedback from regulatory bodies engaged with technical evaluation of new and existing qualifications and assessments.
  • Manage and lead qualification developers and processes ensuring the development of high-quality qualifications, redevelopment of existing qualifications and maintenance of live portfolio.
  • Build and maintain a network of external subject matter experts, employers and providers minimising costs for deployment to support effective qualification development.
  • Collaborate with the Assessment team to ensure that developments are assessed in line with technical guidance and delivered on time.
  • Use technology and systems to maximise efficiency in the development and launch of new qualifications.
  • Ensure the Awarding Organisation meets all regulatory requirements for the design and maintenance of qualifications.
  • Support with the day-to-day operational functions of the wider Qualification and Assessment team where required, including answering phone calls directed to the team, helping where possible and taking messages where required during busier periods.
  • Line management of qualification developers.

Other Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain an understanding of TQUK's internal processes and of the wider educational landscape
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of TQUK products and services
  • Manage data: inputting, filing, and monitoring
  • Contribute to the maintenance and improvement of team Standard Operating Procedures.
